found: pomme

we just stumbled upon this nyc store called pomme.  it's beyond adorable.  here's our little curated list of favorites.  we think our in-house toddler, holden, would go nuts for that rocket ship.

the whole package

packaging is often excruciatingly under-emphasized.  with a little thought and creativity, you can make your product really stand out.  these businesses definitely fit the bill on great packaging.

two rooms: phoebe howard

i thought it might be fun to have a recurring series showing two different rooms from the same designer to showcase their design spectrum.  i'm starting the series with two rooms from phoebe howard.  i purchased her new book a couple of weeks ago and have already found endless inspiration.  so, without further ado:

a guest suite in a house by the water...i could certainly get used to this bedroom & bath.  in fact, i'd probably never leave.  things to love about this room: the scalloped quadrille drapes and valences, the quadrille-upholstered chair, the great pops of bright turquoise, and the out-of-this-world turquoise mural in the bathroom.  stunning.

next up, the kitchen in phoebe's own hamptons home.  that banquet seating is unbelievable!  things to love about this room: the cerused wood/white cabinets/white marble combination, the industrial lighting, that ceiling, and the fantastic banquet area.

things to love

one of the greatest feelings in the world is seeing something that completely inspires you, makes you have to stop whatever you're doing and just stare.  here are a few of those:

volpi by quadrille

few women can really be tagged a "tastemaker" but there is certainly one woman who fits the bill to a "t"-- pun intended.  tory burch recently revealed her beautiful, if not slightly unexpected, traditional-style beach house to vogue.

while not too many pieces in her home scream "i'm a beach house," her sunroom is nothing short of exquisite.  down to the woven armchairs, geometric sisal rug and blue & white porcelain, i'd venture to say not much is lacking except, perhaps, a tall glass of iced sweet tea (i am from the south, after all).

the fortuny-esque print of quadrille's volpi pattern looks amazing on the basketweave armchairs.  this is certainly a beach house that i'd love to frequent even when the centigrade is low.

trellis background from china seas

we just can't get our fill of china seas' trellis background fabric and wallpaper.  it may be november but this delectable print places us on a beach with a tropical drink in hand.

grisaille

we really think we could sit in a room with grisaille-style murals on the walls forever.  why would you ever want to leave?
